lennox is. my genshin self-insert (fuck this game)
he's actually The Sequel to my first genshin self-insert, who was a horrible person because of how i saw myself at the time. alec and lennox share some similarities (pathetic little mondstadt white boys with no drip) but the difference is lennox isn't a suicide maniac
he's been to every mainland region (boats are scary so he hasn't gone to inazuma.) he's a traveling poet and artist and he does not have a job. he just makes money by doing random commissions or requests for people. he's not a human but a secret other thing (fairy creature.)
he is in tune with the emotions of everyone around him but not his own. he is incredibly homosexually attracted to albedo.
please do not ask me what the fuck "severely unemployed lennox-chan" is referencing. i don't know. i'm quoting it from this elsword fanart log from an artist i follow. i don't know anything beyond that

Lennox’s story is rather mundane. He had been working on pieces of artwork during the Windblume Festival; it was his own tradition to give his friends and family a hand drawn piece along with a flower. This was the first festival since the death of his father, and he insisted on working himself to exhaustion to keep his mind off of it.
Day and night, he would sit and draw, fussing over the composition and the choice of colors, over what the person would like, thinking of what flower to include… He had been known for his unusual taste in Windblumes, choosing flowers from all over Teyvat. Every time the festival came around, he would give his mother a Mist Flower Corolla, and his father a Flaming Flower Stamen. They were opposites, yet complemented each other; in hindsight, it came off as a rather cruel joke.
Burnout began to set in after the third drawing was finished, after three days of constant work. One for the residents of Springvale, one to leave at the statue of Barbatos in the city, and one to leave as an “anonymous” gift to the Chief Alchemist. He could hardly force himself out of bed. At this rate, he wouldn’t be able to finish one for his own mother! The thought of not having the perfect piece for her made him feel even sicker, and this sickness made him unable to work… If only his father were alive, he could do the same thing he did for every festival! This one had to be different, and he had to make it perfect for his dear mother! She was suffering too, and he was going to make something special, and so he kept working… Until he fell asleep and didn’t wake up for another twenty-four hours.
Somehow, when he woke up, he was groggy, and noted that he smelled of paint. His mother had woken him up in a frenzy, thinking he had worked himself to death! He had fallen asleep at his workstation, getting pigment all over him in the process. As he woke up and collected his thoughts, he realized there was no point in working until he made himself sick. He had been working so hard he was forgetting to drink water, to eat, to look at anything but his art. All of this work to avoid thinking about his father, and he still ended up thinking of him, thinking of how much anger he felt.
Lennox felt silly, still lingering in the past during a festival celebrating rebellion and freedom! He was remembering someone he hated rather than truly appreciating those he loved. After a few days of rest and spending time with his friends and with his mother, he felt much better, and began to work again. This time, he would offer his mother something different: a bouquet of snapdragons. He had picked some during a visit to the city with her, and preserved them so they would still be lively when his work was finished.
As always, his mother loved his work. It was bittersweet; while she was happy, his father was no longer part of the celebration. It was a new era of his life, and while it was scary, he began to see that it was okay to change.
Upon returning to his workstation, he found a shiny Dendro Vision laying amongst his supplies. He proceeded to ignore it, not wanting to deal with the emotions receiving a Vision would cause.
about the vision:
“I suppose it’s nice to have. I didn’t really ask for it, nor did I care to get one, but I suppose the Archons thought I needed one.”
about albedo:
“He’s an incredible artist… I’ve always wanted to talk to him, but he’s always off in Dragonspine, and the times he’s come back to the city, I… I get nervous and can’t bring myself to go up to him…”
about venti:
“We’ve traded stories a few times! He’ll write mine into a song, and I’ll illustrate his. It’s pretty fun, though I haven’t been able to keep up since I started traveling… I hope he doesn’t mind.”
